Keynsham hold in form Wellington at the AJN Stadium to a one all draw on Saturday 22nd November 2014. Olivier Nott put Wellington one up in the 5th minute of the game but young Matt Curnock equalised for the home side on the 62nd minute.

Wellington came into the game off the back of an impressive four straight wins lifting them away from the bottom of the Western League Div One table. However injuries forced them in to playing players out of position with even the Reserve team manager playing for them in goal.

They started brightly after good work from Jack Bryant who touches a knocked down ball on for Nott to finish well on 5 minutes. Ian Bellinger and Luke Redrup also went close to doubling the lead before the break with Wellington on top for most of the half.

However it was Keynsham that looked more dangerous in the second half after a team talk by Chris King. Ben Harris went close for Keynsham but Wellington still managed to hit the home side on the break with Nott seeing his shot cleared off the line and Redrup forcing Ashley Wintle into another good stop moments later.

Curnock then began to take the game to Wellington through some direct runs and started, and finished, a great move on 62 minutes. The teenager played in Harris out on the right hand side and continued his run into the area. Harris played his way to the by-line to produce a great cross on to Curnock’s head who couldn’t miss.

Luke Lipinski was Keynsham’s main threat as the half wore on, trying to dictate the play, but Redrup for Wellington was keeping the Keynsham backline on their toes with some testing runs on the counter. Keynsham actually had the better of the chances to win it, with substitute Liam Robson with the best chance, but it wasn’t their day as the game finished 1-1.
