BDTTL Summer League Aug 2018

There are just three games left – 27 points on offer for each team – and the league table is starting to take shape at the top and the bottom but there is a very congested middle section. There will be movement possible right up to the final day if these close games keep happening!

Steve Doidge put in another excellent performance to help League leaders Nietzsches Nightmares extend their lead at the top of the table with a 6-3 win over 3rd placed Keynsham TT Club.

A special mention for one of our veteran players Alan Charlton who had to play 3 very tight 3-setters losing and winning a set each at sudden death and going very close in his other game.

The Keynsham outfit’s 3 point was enough for them to hang on to 3rd spot but the pack are closing in behind.

2nd in the table Batheaston Braves, who surrendered their unbeaten record last week, may be picking up a bad habit as they lost again this week and are now 3 points adrift of the leaders, This week saw a narrow 4-5 defeat to Oldfield who are enjoying a much better season this year and are now close in 4th.  No maximums in this game but all six players contributed at least a set.

Dawns Divas and Ursa Major are both having feast or famine campaigns. They met this week and Dawns Divas took the honours 6-3 with Simon Monks maximum proving to be the decisive contribution.

The final encounter saw a match-up between the bottom 2 teams. Nigel Pedley was in good form for Keep Paddling and his maximum saw his team home 6-3.

All the Mendip Lambs players contributed a win each but this defeat leaves them further behind now at the foot of the table as we move into the final 3 rounds.
