Take a look at the action from one game from each division of the Bath & District TTL –

 

Premier Division

 

Chippenham B 21 – 15 Oldfield B

Two B teams meet with Chippenham showing great strength in dept by winning with Alan Feltham playing up. Paul Redman gave the visitors the early lead but Oldfield then conceded nine points in a row.

 

Things then improved for Oldfield again with Nigel Dagger and Martin Le Butt registering six points in the next two sets to Chippenham’s three. So after the 6th set the match is tightly contested at 12-9 to the home team. However the lead increased with David Hadley completing his three sets with nine points and Andy Cox completed a brace.

 

Le Butt did register his own brace for the away team leaving the match at 18-13 going into the doubles game. Oldfield looked to be winning the doubles with some ease going two games up but Chippenham showed great character to come back and win the next three.

 

Division One

 

Radstock A 26 – 14 Yatton Keynell C

Wayne Button stepped up to his A team and produced a MOTM performance. All three of his sets went to five games but the left hander stood up and saw out his final games well 11-6, 11-7 and 11-9.

 

He was ably supported by Karen Millard and Phil Ware with a brace each. Jeffrey Flynn and Joseph Dukes did beat Ware and Millard respectively and almost snatched the doubles in another five game set.

 

Division Two

 

Bear Flat B 18 – 20 Bear Flat C

This interclub game took a surprise twist with the C team beating their B side, despite MOTM Gary Oaten gaining 9 points.

 

The match had a real cut and thrust to it with the C team just edging it at the half way stage – 11-7. Trevor Floyd recorded a 3-1 win for the B team in the 6th set with Oaten completing his 9 points in the 7th.

 

So the match was now 13-13 with just two singles and a doubles left. John Hunter secures a brace and a haul of seven points with Jon Turner coming through 3-1 against Keith Gammon in the 9th set. This gave the away team the win with the doubles still to play; ending 3-1 to the home team.
