Bath TTL 2018/19 Week 13

There was plenty of action before the Christmas holidays in the Premier League, Division One and Division Two.

Oldfield A sit on top of the Premier League with a 28-10 home win over Oldfield C. It looked to be a clean win until William Guibarra defeated David Marshall in four sets in the 6th match. Chippenham A gained ground in second place with a 29-8 away win against two man Bathford A.

Yatton Keynell A picked up a big home win against bottom place Bath Invaders B; 28-7. Ray Powell picked up MOTM with Kevin Williams also gaining 9 points. Bath Invaders A ran fourth placed Oldfield B close losing out 19-20 away. Noah Hung played up for the Invaders and they were winning up to the doubles but the pairing of Martyn Le Butt and Paul Redman proved too strong.

Chippenham C lost 10-27 to Josh Kashdan’s Bathford B side. Kashdan gained another maximum and was supported well by Stephen Husbands and Peter Mott. This gives the B side every chance to leap frog their A side in the new year if they can win their game in hand.

There were wins for the top three teams in Division One.

Leaders Radstock A won 27-11 against Bear Flat A. Derek Landricombe put in a MOTM performance but there were 6 deuce games which could have swung the other way as Radstock were made to work hard for the win.

Keynsham A had to dig deep to win 22-18 at home to Ensleigh A. The match report reads:

“An excellent upset win by Graham Harbour’s over the fast improving Olly Newton who has been in devastating form recently was the highlight and there were some excellent sets all through an absorbing contest. The Pollard / Galley doubles pairing clinched the win for the Keynsham side.”

Chippenham D managed to win 21-15 against Oldfield D as they look to keep in touch with the top two. Ben Greene and James Wheeler scored high in another evening that could have gone either way.

It’s also tight at the other end of the table with Yatton Keynell C beating Bathford C 18-16. Colin Thomas’ MOTM maximum wasn’t enough for the bottom placed side.

Batheaston A make it 12 wins from 12 with a 30-8 away win against Chippenham E in Division Two. Key Centre B won 30-0 against two man Ensleigh B, to keep them top of the chasing pack.
