Weekend Preview Feb 2nd

Lots of exciting football matches this weekend, lets take a look at the local Bath fixtures – well if any are actually on after the snow on Thursday night!

**Ok so none of them went ahead due to the weather!**

Bath City vs Hampton & Richmond Borough

Bath are sitting in third place, in the Conference South, and Jerry Gill’s man need your support to help cheer the team on to maintain the play off push.

Bath have been boosted with retaining James Morton for the rest of the season after agreeing with Bristol City to extend his loan spell. The young midfielder has been out injured recently but will be set to return to play a key role very soon.

Cirencester Town vs Larkhall Athletic

The Larks are on the road to fifth placed Cirencester. If they can manage to take away the three points then they will close the gap to the playoffs (depending on other results) to four points.

Westbury United vs AFC Odd Down

Mid table Odd Down will be looking to put the breaks on Westbury’s promotion push as they travel to Meadow Lane.

Bishop Lydeard vs Keynsham Town

John Allen’s men are hot on the toes of league leaders Cheddar and an away win will put them top if Cheddar fail to win.

Keynsham are getting stronger and stronger each season with a committed squad of players. Alongside seasoned Western League players the club still promotes players from it’s large youth set up; with a clear pathway of a senior third team and reserves for aspiring local youngsters.

In recent years some have moved on to larger clubs with a lot of first team experience behind them, most noticeably James Ollis to Bath City.

However the latest to move will be Cameron Shorney as this would have been his last game for Keynsham. The talented midfielder/full back has been given the chance to play football in New Zealand.

He goes with the blessing of all of the staff and players at the football club. I’d also like to take the time to wish him the best of luck in his new life in New Zealand.

You can see a collection of his freekicks HERE.

Ladies football was also called off on Sunday with Keynsham due to travel to Reading in the FA cup.

Keep an eye out for the rearranged fixtures on social media.
