Baseball Club Looking for New Players

Bristol Baseball Club has started it’s search for people wanting to take up the sport next season.

The club is holding two introductory sessions for men and women over the age of 11 in December.

The first will be on Saturday 7th December from 10.00am until 12 noon Badminton School on Westbury Road in Bristol.

The second is being held on Sunday 15th December from 11.00am until 1.00pm at Wellsway School on Chandag Road in Keynsham.

Each session, which will be run by the club’s coaches, will cost £5.00 and players of all abilities and experience are welcome.

“We know there are lots of people in the area who love baseball and we would love to see people whether they have no experience or those who have played and moved to the area,”

said the club chairman Richard Evans.

“Last year we were able to set up a development team mainly made up of people new to the sport and it was amazing to see how much they developed to challenge for honours at the end of the season.”

Molly Willcox, who hadn’t picked up a baseball until the beginning of the year, became a regular playing member of the Bristol Buccaneers.

“I had a fantastic year with the club and the coaches were brilliant in helping new players like me improve with every game,”

said Molly.

“The club is very welcoming to everyone and not only did I love playing with the Buccaneers but also had the chance to play in a women’s game with Tsz Yan who also joined the club last year.”

Bristol Baseball Club runs three teams:

The Badgers play in the national British Baseball Federation (BBF) League while the Bats and the Buccaneers play in the South West Baseball League (SWBL).
