50 goals club gains two new members

This weekend the 50 goals club gained two new members for two different local clubs.

50 Goals for Dave Pratt and Pat Davison Football

Bath City’s Dave Pratt scored the second goal against Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday 19th March to put him on 50 goals for the club. After joining City in August 2013 the hard working striker has scored 50 goals in 130 appearances.

Bishop’s Stortford must be his favourite club to play against as he scored his first ever Bath City goal on his debut. The Romans went on to win 2-1 in that game to kick off their 2013/14 season with a win. Fellow strike partner Andy Watkins also made a goal scoring debut in that match.

Pratt becomes the 36th City player to reach this milestone for the club with a goal ever 2.6 games. This puts him at 20th place out of those 36 players for goals per games; according to the Bath City forum.

The Romans faithful will be hoping Pratt has found his goal scoring boots again permanently at the business end of the season with City just 3 points off the relegation places in the Conference South.

Keynsham Town also received a member to their 50 goals club on Saturday as they beat Radstock Town 3-2 at home. Pat Davison scored their first goal and the crucial winner on the 85th minute to keep the Ks in the hunt for a top 5 finish.

Pat has come through the club’s youth system and made his debut for the Western League club back in the 2010/11 season. The 23 year old striker has been employed on the wings last season before moving back up top after coming back from travelling in October.

Chris King is getting the best out of the striker this season with an impressive 14 goals from just 23 appearances. The brace on Saturday takes his tally to 50 goals from 158 appearances and means he is the first player in over nine seasons to reach this landmark.

Keynsham have struggled in recent seasons to hold on to their better players being an amateur club. However the work of manager Chris King and the committee behind the scenes have ensured that this season the core of the squad have stayed together; with 9 players playing over 30 games.

Both players will have a chance to add to their haul this week as Bath travel to Maidenhead on Friday 25th March, whilst Keynsham make the short trip to Chippenham Park on Tuesday 22nd. Best of luck to both strikers and their teams this week and their race to 100 goals.

So who do you think will reach 100 goals first?
