Bath double this weekend

Twerton Park will host two game this weekend

You will get a chance to watch two games of football this weekend for just £10! Bath City take on Cheltenham Town on Saturday 26th at a 3pm ko, with the Supporters team staging a game on Twerton Park at 1pm on Sunday.

Lee Howells and Andy Gallinagh’s former team Cheltenham Town are the visitors to Twerton Park on Saturday. There are just two weeks left before Bath play Concord Rangers away in their first Conference South game and Cheltenham take on Bury Town away in League 2, so both teams will be playing their strongest XI. Director of Football Adie Britton said to the Chronicle

It could prove to be our most meaningful pre-season test in that they aren’t too far removed from our level, in the way Cardiff and Swansea were.
The management will also be making their final decisions on the two trialists Pat Keary and Zak Evans, as the budget will only allow them to sign one of them. There could be a possibility of dual registration with a Southern Premier club for Evans; until he gets his match fitness back after playing with an injury. Keary has come through the Bristol Rovers youth set up, making a handful of appearances for the former League 2 club whilst Evans came through at Cardiff City before playing 4 seasons at AFC Newtown in the Welsh Premier scoring 19 goals from 68 starts.

Then the real football starts on Sunday for 32 lucky fans who get the chance to emulate their favourite moments on Twerton Park. There will be two teams with rolling subs playing 3 30 minute halves of football kicking off at 1pm. Non playing fans, friends and family are more than welcome to attend too with Charlies bar open from 12.15, with food available during and after the game has finished. Best of all it’s free to get in for spectators, you might even be entertained!

There are still a couple of places left if you want to be involved! It’s £15 to play (your food included) with all the money going straight to Bath City FC to help with the club’s debt. You’ll also get a chance to wear last season’s playing shirts so only bring your boots and shin pads. It will be a fun game with a penalty shoot out at the end with very mixed ability and ages. So if you are still interested then please send an email to davephillipsbath@sky.com

Hope to see a good crowd for both games this weekend, the reports will be on here afterwards.
