Bath City fans have been busy to back the Bath City Supporters Society’s community ownership idea and have already got the first event lined up. Bath City fans will play each other in a morning of social football at Odd Down Playing Fields before the Community match at Twerton Park in the afternoon.

A representative of Bath City Supporters FC said “In light of the superb news that the board are co-operating with the community ownership idea, a Bath City Supporters 11 v 11 will be taking place! The new Odd Down Playing Fields 3G Pitch has been hired out for 2 hours (10-12), this coming Saturday!”

“A somewhat celebratory game will be played between two sides made up of fans. Whatever profit is made after paying for the pitch, will go STRAIGHT to the Society Action Group to kickstart the fundraising for a community owned club. We’ll also hopefully have the use of two City strips for both teams to wear.”

Odd Down will be plastered with the large flags usually seen on the terraces of Twerton Park and players are encouraged to bring family and friends along to watch or join in! KO will be at 10.30 and each player will pay a £5 fee. All players must wear shin pads and clean studded boots (no blades). If you are interested in playing then please register your interest on their facebook event.

A quick shower and change and then it’s down to Twerton Park for the community day at the club with Charlies and Randalls open before the game. Bath City take on Concord Rangers in a pay what you want game so there is a large crowd expected so get there early to avoid queuing. City will be looking to bounce back after a 4-2 loss to Weston Super Mare on Tuesday night.

So please enjoy both events if you can and get behind the City and enjoy this new era for the club.

There is also a sponsorship opportunity for this first fundraising event. Your business or company will be on this article when confirmed and on social media. There will then be a formal press release for traditional media after the event. Email mtannersports@gmail.com for more details.

  1. Hi Mark I’ve just join the bath city forum as Dorset city . I’m Graham weeks god son and my dad was Dennis Hibberd who went everywhere to watch city and started the 50/50 tickets . I see you have a bath city kick about for the society which is a great ideal. I have a veterans team based in Dorchester were not great but enjoy a run around and i would like to do my bit to help! How about a game at the end of the season at twerton park or somewhere my team would travel to bath and I’m sure we could raise some money for the society….. Anyway I will leave you to have a think!!! Up the city . Duncan
