By Matthew Lee

This Saturday, sixteen of the twenty-one sides that make up the Conference South played with only 2 games falling victim to the poor weather: Bishops Stortford vs Staines Town and Maidenhead vs Concord.

The league leaders took fight with third placed Basingstoke at the Meadow Park. However Boreham, who were hoping to extend their lead at the top by ten points, fell to a dismal 4-0 defeat. Basingstoke striker Chris Flood got the demolition of Boreham underway only 22 minutes into the game. Liam-Enver Marum managed to also get on the score sheet with Basingstoke’s second. A 3rd was quickly added of the day on 38 minutes before Chris Flood rounded off the victory and got his hatrick on the 63rd minute.

Hemel Hempstead scored six past lowly Weston-Super-Mare in an entertaining 6-1 victory in Weston. There were four different players on the score sheet with Matty Harriott and Jordan Parkes both scoring doubles alongside strikes from Zane Banton and Oliver Hawkins.

There was a single draw in the league this weekend when Ebbsfleet dropped two points away to Gosport after going being ahead 2-0 in the 59th minute; thanks to two strikes by Adam Cunnington. However Gosport stuck back with two goals from Matt Paterson and Dan Wooden.

Whitehawk fell 2-1 away to Chelmsford thanks to strikes from Joe Ward and Michael Cheek either side of a Whitehawk goal. Solid home wins for Bromley, Sutton and Wealdstone all winning 2-0 against Havent & Waterlooville, Farnborough and Hayes & Yeading.

One the road in form Bath City climbed the table with a 1-0 win away at Eastbourne. A 7th minute goal from Ashley Kington was enough for the Romans who have a further 4 away games in a row to contest this month.
