Rovers came from one goal down on Saturday to draw with Kidderminster Harriers.

The away side took the lead in the 67th minute with Blisset heading home from a corner. Rovers created a few chances – Mark McChrystal met David Martin’s cross and hit his shot straight at the keeper. Rovers equalised thanks to the recently under fire Matt Taylor; the goal following a great ball from Fulham youngster Lyle Della-Verde. He looks like a great talent and hopefully we can have him for a bit longer.

Although many of us fans are disappointed with not picking up all 3 points, a point is a point and we didn’t lose the game. We’re still right near the top and hopefully we can go on another run and cut the gap on the London side Barnet.

I’m pleased for Matt Taylor who runs and runs and runs – we can’t fault his effort and energy on the pitch. Yes, he’s a striker and maybe he should take a few more of his chances but hopefully he will be able to kick on a bit.

In other news this week, Jamie White has cancelled his contract by mutual consent. The manager has come out and said Jamie White was frustrated by lack of game time. It looks like he is going to join Conference South side Sutton United.

White leaving frees up some wages and there have been lots of rumours and stories going around that Rovers are in talks with Millwall striker Jermaine Easter. I’d love it if this materialised but to be honest it’s a bit of a long shot as I’m sure many clubs in the football league would be interested in him.

This got me thinking – who are the best strikers you Rovers fans have seen at the club?

For me it has to be Rickie Lambert, and as we all know he’s gone a long way from his days at the Mem.

Tuesday night  Rovers were in action in the Gloucester FA Senior Cup against Cinderford Town. The final score was 2-1 with Rovers coming from behind to win the game. We have Jamie Lucas and Jake Gosling to thank for the two goals scored. Surely Jamie Lucas should be given a chance in the first team? As I’ve mentioned before, he’s scored in the league below whilst on loan at Weston Super Mare so we should make use of his eye for goal and give him a chance.

Angelo Balanta played the full 90 minutes and looked lively. It will be great to see him in the first team too as he looks a great prospect.

Next up is an away game to Chester on Saturday

Come on Rovers!
