Think you can play?

Just two days left to register your place

The Bath & District Table Tennis Association have extended their deadline to Sunday 15th Feb for players looking to compete in the Bath Open.

There are 4 main events for players of all different ages to get involved with:

Monday 23rd Feb at 7.30pm is the main event with the Bath Open singles

Wednesday 25th Feb at 7.00pm is the over 45 Veterans singles

Thursday 26th Feb at 7.00pm is the Handicap singles – which is where each player will have a certain points allocation based on ability

These three events will all be held at St John’s School in Oldfield Park

The Juniors then have their own events too on Saturday 28th at Bathampton Scout Hut. The under 14s cadets singles is first followed by the under 18 Juniors singles.

Players to look out for in the Bath Open are Gary Baldwin of Chippenham A, he is a steady player who rare loses a league game in the Premier Division and cleared up at the awards night last season. England Veterans Ladies number 8 Michele Reeves is currently unbeaten in the Premiership as well and will be looking to get all the way to the finals. The surprise package could be Chen Chen, who plays in Division One. Relatively new to the sport Chen has improved at an amazing rate in the last two seasons and may shock a few players with his fast paced modern game.

Our very own featured player, Scott Cooper, will be hoping to overcome injury problems to compete in this Open having missed out on the recent GP events due to ill health. If he does play then he could be in line for a finals appearance.

So if you think you have what it takes to compete in this Open then please email Alan Champneys at a.r.champneys@bristol.ac.uk and he will be able to register your interest and give you a form to fill out.
