Weekend Bath based Preview
First up Bath Rugby play Saracens Rugby at home in the AVIVA Premiership as they look to get back to winning ways in front of a near sell-out crowd at the Rec on Friday night. It will also be a chance for the new students in the City to watch their new adopted rugby team after picking up tickets from the Fresher’s Fair. The city centre, trains, roads and buses will be extremely busy for this one so allow extra time for travelling in and out of Bath.
Then Bath City FC travel to Sutton United on Saturday 4th in a bid to carry on their unbeaten run back into their Conference South league campaign. Unbeaten in their last five games and through to the 3rd Qualifying round of the FA Cup Lee Howells will be keen to continue this run for a little longer after a stuttering start to their season. The Supporters Club will be running a coach to this game, details can be found here on how to book your place. You can always chance turning up on the day as every away league game on a Saturday they run a 48 seat coach so there is usually space.
Larkhall Athletic FC will be looking to put their FA replay behind them as they take on a strong Mangotsfield United at home on Saturday. The Larks have made an impressive start to their South & West Div One season and currently sit in 4th place scoring 16 goals from 9 games whilst conceding 10. However Mangotsfield will provide another stern test for Wayne Thorne’s men.
Keynsham Town FC have a big game in the FA Vase at home this Saturday as they take on Plymouth Parkway. Under Chris King the team have been blooding a lot more local young players but they will need the experience of Pat Davison, Scott Brain, Ryan Beak and Luke Lipinski if they are to progress this weekend.
Odd Down have a local derby in the Toolstation Premier as they host Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday. Manor Farm are top of the league but Odd Down have a good chance with the players wanting to get one over on their Bristolian counter parts.
Our featured teams also have fixtures this weekend with Avon Rugby Club looking bounce back to winning ways. Burnham-on-Sea make the trip to Hicks Field in the Tribute Western Counties North Division on Saturday 4th. Avon will be keen to keep in touch with the top teams this season after a narrow loss last weekend.
Bath Futsal are also desperate to earn their first win of the season after drawing too many games already this season in their National Division Two campaign. They are boosted with a number of new signings in the last week; the latest is Keon Richardson from Team Bath. He will make his debut against Loughborough United Futsal away on Sunday 5th.
