Larks celebrate their 2014/15 season

Larkhall presentation evening 2015

Members of the First team and Reserves along with many fans and sponsors celebrated a fantastic season for the club on Saturday 9th May.

We are clearly the best Club in the area and once you play for the Larks you will never play for another Club where you will feel so valued by everyone – Club Chairman Paul Rankin

Thanks was given to the First team management fronted by Wayne Thorne for their cup runs this season and their fantastic league form. The Larks finished 5th in the Southern League Division One after gaining promotion from the Western League Premier last season. Only a narrow defeat by Stratford Town, 3-2, prevented them going up again via the play offs.

The season surpassed all expectations, the FA Cup run, the victories over teams with bigger squads, bigger budgets and bigger egos and then reaching the playoff final after providing another shock by winning at Evesham in the semi.  The season started with expectations of survival which after the first two games seemed unlikely!  But after finding our feet we went from strength to strength and fully deserved the success of reaching the final and the accolades that came our way – Club Chairman Paul Rankin

The Reserves also had a good season finishing 3rd in their league with their eyes firmly set on promotion next season to help develop the club’s younger players path into the first team.

Somerset Cup success was achieved by the Ladies team this season too; defeating Lydeard Ladies 4-0 in the final.

Youth Tournaments are lined up in the summer for some of their 250 junior players to compete in.

Winners on the night were:

First team
Manager’s player of the year – Rob Hobbs
Players’ player of the year – Tyler Sibbick
Young player of the year – Joe Tumelty
Supporters’ player of the year – Joe Tumelty
Stan Ramplin Cup – Clive Garraway

Reserves
Manager’s player of the year – Joe Oswin
Players’ player of the year – Joe Battrick

Club

The Larks are clearly a club on the up and all at M Tanner Sports wish them every success next season after a relaxing summer break.
