European Rugby action comes to Bath this week in an action packed weekend of local sport. Bath Rugby host WASPS in front of the TV camera in the European Challenge Cup as this young side look for a win. Promotion chasing AFC Odd Down are the only other team to play at home as they entertain Shepton Mallet in the Western Premier League.
Bath City travel to high flying Ebbsfleet with Lee Howells knowing he will have to get something out of this game. The Romans have suffered an alarming drop in form this season. After their best ever start to a league campaign since the 1940s they now only have a 37% win record and are falling fast.
Wayne Thorne’s side celebrated last weekend with their Christmas meal and are looking to secure 3 points this Saturday away at Swindon Supermarine. The Larks have already played out a 1-1 draw with their hosts back in August so will be looking for another positive result to help them climb the league.
Keynsham Town are on the road against struggling Westbury United in the Western League Div One. Chris King’s men are performing above expectations this season, currently in 11th place, as they are one of the only teams in the league not able to pay their players.
Avon Rugby will now be able to try and build an unbeaten run this season after their win over Whitehall last weekend. This ended a 9 game losing streak much to the delight of Steve Bird and the rest of the committee. This weekend’s game sees them travel to Chew Valley for a local derby.
