The Bath & Wiltshire Romans RLFC are travelling to Kings Norton RFC home of New Ravens just south of Birmingham on this coming Sunday 3rd April for the New Ravens pre season competition.
Romans Chairman Chris Chatten says “This competition is run on an invitation only basis so we feel fortunate to be invited. The format is 13-a-side, 20 minute fixtures so will ease players into the sport who are new to Rugby League.”

In other Romans news the West of England League teams have been confirmed now with the league being reformatted slightly.
The League has been split into two pools of 5 teams, with each team in their group playing each other twice (once home, once away), then there are two cross pool fixtures, before play-offs, Grand Final and Harry Jepson Competition.
The Romans will renew their rivalry with Bristol Sonics playing them first away on Saturday 4th June, then at home on Saturday 30th July the penultimate round of the season.
However, Romans first home league fixture will be away at Gloucester Warriors on Saturday 14th May who are returning to the league from Conference League South. The All Golds CLS Team taking their position this year in Conference League South and the warriors will be somewhat of an unknown quantity as they seek to rebuild in the West of England League. The Romans will get to play their other near neighbours Swindon St. George once in a cross pool fixture at Swindon.

Like Gloucester Warriors, Oxford Cavaliers have also dropped down from Conference League South, while Portsmouth Seahawks and Southampton Spitfires have joined from the London/South East Leagues. Forest Bulldogs are a completely new team playing out of the forest of Dean area after playing a series of friendlies in 2015, they are also planning to rota home fixtures between different grounds in 2016.
The Romans will be training at Corsham RU Club, Lacock Road, Corsham this evening (31/03/16) in their final session before the New Ravens competition from 7pm and are still on the look out for new players.
