Bath Futsal Club and The Creative Slider Company combine to form Bath Futsal Club Ladies
Funding was cut to Bath’s only Ladies Futsal Club, Bath City Foundation, in January and Chairman Michael Wootten moved quickly to find them some alternative sponsorship.
Former Bath Futsal goal keeper Fran Harvey and The Creative Slider Company will be paying for venue hire until the end of the season.
The newly named Bath Futsal Club Ladies currently compete in the National League Southern Division and are in their debut season. After just 5 games Bath Women’s Futsal are in 3rd place with 4 wins, two places above their rivals Bristol City in 5th.
Manager Sergio Galan is confident that his side can finish the season well and will be in with a real chance of breaking into the top two once they have caught up their outstanding fixtures. The two teams above them have both played 8 games each.
“The passion behind Bath Futsal Club and Futsal remains intact and we will continue to drive the sport forward where we can” said Wootten. “Part of our recent work has been to ensure the current Futsal provision in Bath is maintained! To that affect it brings me great pleasure to welcome Bath Futsal Club Ladies”.
Bath Futsal Club are looking to grow again from scratch this year after their name was taken from the National Futsal League Midlands Division after Billy Whittaker left the club at the end of last season. The team they took their place has failed to live up to their 4th placed finish after renaming as Bristol City Development Futsal Club and are currently bottom of the league.
So chairman Wootten would like to reach out to the futsal community of Bath “If you would like to support our club we are looking for coaches, players and staff to get involved to begin bringing back the club! If you were involved before and want to get involved again, please get in touch“.
