10 year Anniversary for Bristol Baseball

Bristol Baseball Club will be chasing more honours this season as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.

The 2018 South West Baseball League (SWBL) season kicks off next Sunday (22nd April) with the Bristol Bats welcoming Taunton Muskets to Somerdale Pavilion.

The following weekend the Bristol Badgers will travel to face the Cambridge Monarchs as they start the new challenge of playing in the British Baseball Federation (BBF) AA Central League.

Both teams are hoping to make the playoffs.

“Winning the SWBL Championship last year was a fantastic achievement for everyone involved in the club and we wanted to take on the next challenge of AA BBF baseball,” said club chairman, Richard Evans.

“We have had a good spring training and have added around 11 new players of all standards which is great for the health of the sport and the club.”

This season, the club has linked up with the Above and Beyond charity to help raise money to make sure patient care is the very best it can be in Bristol city centre hospitals.

The club is also celebrating its 10th anniversary and will be holding a dinner for current and former members of the club plus their families and friends over the SWBL All Star weekend of 23rd and 24th June.
