Keynsham Ladies 3-1 Southampton Ladies
National League Div One SW
Missed first half, Keynsham are 1-0 up and have had plenty of chances but Southampton were standing up to the challenge.
The first real chance of the second half was on 53 minutes. On a counter attack a long cross field ball found Laura Williams, she turns back inside to find Justine Lorton in the 6 yard box. A touch gives her the space to shoot but Saints 6 blocks well.
Just three minutes later the Saints keeper was called into action. Lorton had a long shot from outside of the area but it was saved.
Keynsham were soon 2-0 up thanks to a Williams solo effort, turning defence into attack. The winger takes the ball from half way and glides past two defenders to slot it past the on rushing keeper.
A penalty moments later put Keynsham 3-0 ahead. Saints number 9 made a clumsy challenge whilst tracking back and substitute Kaka stepped up to take the spot kick. The keeper went the right way but it was too strong and squeezed under her.
The Saints number one was soon forced back into action with a great save. Williams had swapped wings and lost her two markers with a quick turn. She unleashed a fierce shot from a tight angle, however the keeper saves well.
Just before full time the Saints did pull one goal back. Saint’s 10 gets played through from a clearance and out paces the Keynsham defence on the right. She sets herself on the run and unleashed a looping shot over the Charlotte Haynes.
