Keynsham were made to dig deep for their 13th win in the row as Chippenham Park came close to snatching a point in the second half.
The first five minutes was all Keynsham with Harley Purnell forcing a save. Shortly afterward Cameron Shorney came close with a trademark free kick.
Keynsham soon made their dominance pay on 7 minutes. Adrian Harvey keeps a corner alive, skinning two players to drill the ball into the middle. Mike Grist was still up from the corner to power it in; 1-0 Keynsham.
Chances kept coming for the hosts with Dan Spill and Kyle Box going close. Chippenham still struggled to get a foot hold in the game until the 26th minute.
A corner from Tom McCulloch after a counter attack finds Devan Bryan towering above his marker to squeeze his header in over the man at the back post; 1-1.
The hosts still had chances to go in to half time ahead. Grist had a header from a corner cleared off the line. Box then forces a corner with a long shot, but it comes to nothing, so the teams going in level at the break.
An early half chance fell to Stefan Lee in the first 5 mins with Keynsham still on top. However as the half went on both managers started to make changes.
Craig Wilson, on as a sub, gets in behind from a quick freekick but the keeper saves well. Shorney then shoots into the side netting from a short corner.
Chances now came thick and fast for the home side. Browner goes close with a free header after flowing attacking counter between 4 or 5 Keynsham players.
The pressure finally paid off as Keynsham take the lead on the 74th minute. Nathan Curnock finds Adrian Harvey at the back post to plant his header over the keeper, with a deep cross from the left.
Only five minutes later Harvey gets his second of the game. Keynsham launch a long ball up to Harvey, who heads it to Matt Brown. The striker holds it and lays it back to the midfielder who curls it from the edge of the box into the top corner.
However this sparked Chippenham Park into life and they started to attack with more freedom and purpose.
Bryan looked dangerous all game due to his physical presence and completed his brace on 84 minutes. It was a corner again which finds the striker with a free header making for a nervous final few minutes.
The visitors then have a goal ruled out for offside. A floated free kick finds their player at the back post but the flag went up.
Wilson forces another save at the death as Keynsham pressed in extra time to see the game out.
