LMG Tournament 2014
LMG Bath is hosting a football tournament in aid of Bath City Football Club following an enjoyable day this time last year. Two new teams are taking on the Bath team this year in the form of London & Country and Touchstone. The three way tournament will take place at Twerton Park, home of Bath City FC, on Saturday 3rd May at 2pm with three 60 minute matches.
LMG stands for Loss Management Group and it is part of The Be Group. They are the UK’s largest organisation specialising in the professional management of insurance claims for damage, loss or theft including jewellery, watches, collectables, art and antiques through their Bath based brand LMG Jewellery. Their Head office is in Eastbourne with further offices in Dublin and Sydney. After hearing about Bath City’s off field problems a year ago they made the effort to raise funds through an annual football tournament.
The other two teams are office workers of two large Bath based companies. London & Country are the UK’s largest no-fee mortgage broker. Their advice is free and aims to make the whole process of finding and applying for a mortgage as simple and as cost-effective as possible. Finally Touchstone is a leading property management company with more than 20 years’ experience, who already support the Bath City FC Foundation charity; aiding local children’s football.
Last year’s event was a great success in raising funds for the Conference South club and this year hopes to top raise even more. The TR Hayes lounge will be open from 2pm for spectators to have a drink in the main stand and watch the games. There will also be hot food and teas and coffees available with the presentation to the winners at 6pm, with the bar remaining open until 10pm.
The entrance fee is £5 for the whole day and the first game will kick off at 2pm. It is your last chance to support your local club (through watching a game) and have a laugh in the sunshine (hopefully). Every penny made on entry will go straight back to the club with the players paying too, so please spread the word.
