The leagues are taking shape now as we are around a quarter of the way through. Let’s take a look at the results and who is top of each league.
Premier Division
In an interclub game, Oldfield A defeated their B team 26-18 in an away fixture. Dean Haskett was MOTM with Jamie Phillips also gaining a maximum to keep the A team top. Chippenham A and Oldfield C are close behind in the table with over 100 points each.
Next up are Bathford A who edged past Chippenham C 20-17 with Albert Bolhuis given MOTM. Oldfield B and Bathford B are fifth and sixth respectively in the table.
A Scott Cooper inspired Chippenham B recorded a 25-12 away win against tenth placed Yatton Keynell A. This win lifts Chippenham B above their C team into seventh; below them are the two Bath Invaders teams in ninth and last place.
Division One
Radstock are top of the Division after a convincing 27-14 away win against Yatton Keynell B. Keren Millard and Derek Landricombe came through with game with nine points each. Bitton are hot on their heels in second place with a 25-11 home win against tenth placed Bear Flat A; Alan Papier was MOTM for the home team.
Chippenham D and Key Centre A are in the chasing pack for the top two places. It was the fourth placed visitors, Key Centre A, who came through 25-14 thanks to MOTM Brett Pollard.
Breaking the 100 point barrier was Radstock B with a 23-18 victory over Ensleigh A. However it was Ollie Newton who got MOTM for Ensleigh with a nine point maximum for the teenager.
Bottom placed Bathford C recorded an excellent away win against Oldfield D. Colin Thomas was ably supported by Russell Cole and Ricard Wickham as the Bathford team won 24-15.
Division Two
Batheaston A start to mount an early title charge defeating tenth placed Ensleigh B 30-6; Nigel Pedley gaining the MOTM award. Radstock C claimed a key victory over second placed Key Centre B. The Radstock side are now within a point of their Keynsham based opponents after a 26-14 win.
Bathford B are gaining ground on the top 6 with a victory over fourth placed Oldfield E in a closely fought 24-21 win. Young Greg Rowland bagged himself a MOTM award; supported by Glen Avery and teenager Evan Holding.
Bear Flat B hold fifth place after a 22-15 win over Batheaston B. However it was veteran Phillip Gentle who claimed MOTM for the visitors with nine points. Relegated Mayfield registered an away win against Bear Flat C to keep hold of sixth place. They were made to work hard for their 22-18 win and were helped by Nigel Woolley’s maximum.
Lastly Chippenham E’s 21-17 home win ensured that Yatton Keynell D would stay bottom for another week. The home side had Garry Young to thank with a maximum.
