Winter League Write up 2018-19 Week 10
You can’t win anything with kids, well Bathford A are bucking that trend. Their 30-1 victory in the Premier Division, against Yatton Keynell A, saw teenagers Leon Kashdan-Brown and William Avery record maximums along with Albert Bolhuis as they move up to 5th place.
Oldfield A also recorded a maximum victory, 30-4, against the Bath Invaders A. Dean Haskett claimed MOTM with his team mates also recording maximums. This lengthened their lead over Chippenham A at the top of the league.
Chippenham B claimed an unlikely win over their A team, 19-17, despite Bibek Karki getting 9 points for the A team. Chippenham C also had a tough game losing 18-19 to bottom placed Bath Invaders B. Nicholas Branch claimed MOTM with 9 points for the Invaders.
The final game was Oldfield C 10-25 Bathford B with Josh Kashdan gaining a maximum for the away team.
In Division One the top two teams both won by large margins.
Radstock A produced a 30-4 home win against Chippenham D. Keren Millard lead the way with her two teams mates both gaining maximums. Second placed Key Centre A also had a home with, 29-7 against Oldfield D. Brent Pollard and Dave Galley getting 9 points each.
Ensleigh A were the other big winners of the week with a 27-10 win against Bathford C. Ping Zhang and Ian Clark both got maximums ably supported by Ollie Newton.
A Wayne Button inspired Radstock B beat Yatton Keynell C away 22-15, he was backed up by Mark Bennetts’ 8 points. Elsewhere Paul Green’s Bear Flat A overcame higher placed Yatton Keynell B; 24-16.
In Division Two Oldfield E went down 9-28 to Batheaston A who make it 9 wins from 9 games, with maximums from Nigel Pedley and Gary Sartain. This leaves a 37 point gap to Key Centre B in second place.
The Keynsham based side won 24-10 against Bear Flat B; Mark Tanner claiming MOTM with 9 points. Paul Crocker’s maximum helped 3rd placed Radstock C to a 26-11 away win against Batheaston B.
Mayfield continued their fine form with a 30-6 away win against Ensleigh B; Nigel Woolley getting MOTM. Young players continued to shine in the leagues with Greg Rowland getting 9 points in Bathford D’s 22-9 win over Chippenham E.
Finally Robert Portlock’s 9 points couldn’t lift his team off the bottom as they lost 13-22 to Bear Flat B.
